Rose petal cutter set from Crafty Cutters. Set contains 5 different sizes of rose petals, ideal for making roses for wedding and celebration cakes.
This rose petal cutter set is perfect for creating sugar roses for wedding and celebration cakes.
The set contains 5 different sizes of petal cutters so you can create a range of flower sizes.
To create a rose, roll a small ball of paste into a bud or teardrop shape, this is what you'll attach your petals to in order to create the rose.
Cut out some petals of the desired size, larger petals will create a larger rose. You can mix sizes to create different varieties or more open roses. Then thin the rounded edges of the petals using a ball tool or thinning tool then using some edible glue, glue each one to the bud.
The first couple of petals should cover the bud and as you work your way out to the outer petals, each petal should be peeled further back from the bud as you go.
Add additional details to your flowers by using edible ink pens and dusting colours.
The rose shown in the image was created using the medium rose petal cutter.
Set of 5 cutters, Largest Rose Petal - 35mm x 50mm, Large Rose Petal - 32mm x 45mm, Medium Rose Petal - 25mm x 35mm, Small Rose Petal - 22mm x 30mm, Smallest Rose Petal - 17mm x 25mm
Basic instructions included, Crafty cutters are designed for use with flower paste, modelling paste, sugarpaste, sugar dough and modelling clay.
DO NOT mix between edible and non-edible mediums with the same cutter.
For best results, we recommend using modelling or flower paste.
Roll out the paste to around 2-4mm thick on a lightly dusted surface (using icing sugar or cornflour). For some of the more complex shapes apply a small amount of white fat to the cutter to aid in releasing the paste. Allow the paste to sit for a few moments, press the cutter down firmly and then while keeping the downward pressure wiggle the cutter in a small circle.
Lift the cutter up and remove the paste from the cutter. If the paste won't fall away freely remove using a scriber needle. Due to the manufacturing process, these cutters do not have as sharp a cutting edge as some other cutters. Wiggling the cutter in a small circle while keeping downward pressure avoids frayed or burred edges.
